Updated National Crane NBT50 | Crane Plus : Manitowoc has introduced an updated version of National Crane NBT50 Series of 45 and 50 tonne boom trucks, the NBT50L Series with a 46 metre boom plus an 11 metre offsettable lattice extension.  There are four models in the range, the NBT50L, NBT55L, NTC50L and NTC55L. with 45.4 or 50 tonne rating and can be configured to operate as a model NTC, a truck crane/boom truck hybrid. When configured as an NTC, the crane has four outrigger width setups, including a six metre “truck crane” footprint for tighter job sites. All cranes in the series offer a capacity of 4,536 kg with the fully extended boom at a 10.7 metre radius. The NBT50L also benefits from a new superstructure design, optimised to reduce deflection as well as higher lifting capacities. Manitowoc unveils Grove GRT 9165 Rough Terrain crane | Crane Plus : Manitowoc has unveiled the 149 tonne Grove GRT 9165 Rough Terrain crane at its open days in Shady Grove Pennsylvania today. The three axle GRT 9165 features a 62.5 metre six section, pinned main boom which can be extended to a maximum tip height of 91.2 metres with a choice of manual or hydraulic offset extensions. The new crane has been designed for easy transport, with an overall stowed height of 3.8 metres, hydraulically removable counterweight and outrigger boxes, taking it down to an overall weight of 52.6 tonnes. The crane uses a hydrogas suspension system. Video : Sarens SPMTS transport 580T pile template in UK | Crane Plus : Sarens worked on behalf of client Van Oord to load out a 580t pile template in Wallsend, Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom.  Van Oord is responsible for installing 102 three-legged jacked foundations for their client, Scottish Power Renewables (part of the Iberdrola Group), which is building the East Anglia ONE offshore wind farm in the North Sea.  Watch the Video: Sarens won the project by offering exactly what the client needed: 21m link spans, which Sarens could supply internally. Most equipment arrived from the UK, while the link spans were delivered from the Netherlands to the UK via the client’s barge. Kobelco and Manitowoc end supply agreement | Crane Plus : Crane makers Kobelco Construction Machinery in Japan and The Manitowoc Company headquartered in the USA will end their OEM supply agreement in November 2018. The agreement, under which Kobelco supplies Manitowoc with lattice boom crawler cranes in capacities up to 150 US tons in North America and Manitowoc supplies Kobelco with Grove all terrain cranes for sale in Japan, has been running since 2003. Each has agreed to continue supporting the other with service parts for ten years. Bought Two Demag AC 220-5 All Terrain Cranes | Crane Plus : US crane sales, rental and service company Scott-Macon Equipment has bought two Demag AC 220-5 all-terrain cranes from manufacturer Terex Cranes. The new order joins the company’s existing Terex order for an AC 160-5 and AC 220-5. The Demag AC 220-5 is in the 245 US tons (220 tonnes) capacity class and has a boom length of 255.9 feet (78 metres). Terex said this is the longest main boom reach of any five-axle crane on the market. With boom extensions the crane’s reach can be extended to a 324.8 ft (99 m). The AC 220-5 also has a single engine with an intelligent motor management system to reduce operational and maintenance costs, says Terex, plus all-axle steering, independent rear-axle steering and dynamic launch control. In their nearly third decade of operation (founded in 1990), BAR-S specializes in erecting and dismantling oil rigs, supporting the oil and gas industry in northeastern Colorado and Wyoming. When not supporting the oil and gas industry, the company operates their new ATC-3275 as a taxi crane covering a 300 mile working radius. “Our primary work is moving drilling rigs, but we also work with other transportation and production facilities moving large equipment,” said co-founder of BAR-S Services, Patty Smith. Bar-S uses the Link-Belt all-terrain crane to perform tandem lifts up to 240,000 lbs. (108 862 kg) and solo lifts up to 100,000 lbs. (45 359 kg) on rig moves.
